Terms and Conditions For Dog Grooming

Before using my services, please read the terms and conditions below. By booking in an appointment with Broadleaves Dog Grooming and Pet Care, you are agreeing to the following:

  • I may not be able to be contacted if I am grooming or with a dog. I will have my undivided attention on the dog for its safety in my care. Please allow time for me to respond when it is safe to do so.
  • Please make me aware if your pet has or has recently had fleas. I am unable to groom any pets that currently have fleas as this risks the spread of them to other dogs in my care or onto the equipment in my grooming room. An extra charge may be added to the appointment for sterilisation of equipment, the room, equipment used to clean and time taken. It is in the best interests of myself and all dogs at my grooming room to avoid the risk of catching any parasites.
  • As my grooming room is a one-on-one basis, customers will not be able to stay for the duration of the groom. Dogs can be distracted by their owners’ presence and this can cause injury to myself or the dog. I live down a single track road with farm traffic so unfortunately there is no allocated street parking which means that only drop-off and pick-up is possible.
  • Pairs of dogs from the same household are accepted but please be aware that the dog not being worked on will be in a large crate. This is the safest way to keep myself and the dogs safe.
  • Cancellations or no shows for a booking will be charged half the price of the services booked. If the cancellation is made within 48 hours of the appointment then these charges will apply. This payment will need to be made before rebooking another appointment.
  • All dogs that are to be shaved/cut must be bathed by myself beforehand. Dirty coats damage equipment and will not result in a neat and clean finish.
  • Payments for appointments will need to be made within 48 hours after the groom has been done. Any missed payments will need to be made before booking back in.
  • Invoices can be provided upon request.
  • Drop-off and pick-up is on a residential drive in front of the home where the grooming room is based. Any damage occurred to other vehicles on the property or the property itself will be billed accordingly. Customers park at the property at their own risk – Broadleaves Dog Grooming and Pet Care has no responsibility for any theft or damage to customers’ vehicles.
  • I would like to know any previous experience your dog has had with grooms. This is to help your dog have the best experience. Any previous behavioural problems during a groom must be declared to make the groom as enjoyable as possible for both parties. I will do my best to complete a full groom whilst managing any aggressive or nervous behaviours. If a groom cannot be fully completed due to such behaviour, the full amount of the appointment must still be paid.
  • In the best interests of myself and the dog, I reserve the right to refuse service to any dog that has caused or may cause injury to myself or itself.
  • Collection and drop-off service for your dog is available for an extra fee based on the distance to travel. Please enquire when booking.
  • Any medical conditions or concerns must be declared before the groom is done. Full grooms can take up to 3 hours and can be difficult for dogs that are older or have any health risks. I reserve the right to stop the groom if I have any concerns with a dog’s medical health. The price of the appointment must be fully covered if this is the case. Please make me aware also of allergies, lumps or any relevant issues before the groom begins. Medical expenses are to be covered by the owner unless I am deemed negligent.
  • Please note, I am not able to groom pregnant or weaning dogs. A groom can be completed once a dog is no longer feeding puppies.
  • By engaging my services as your groomer, you are declaring that all vaccinations are up to date. Any unvaccinated pets run the risk of spreading illness to other dogs that use my services.
  • In the case of a matted coat, you will be contacted to discuss the coat condition and the best way to proceed. If a certain amount of time has passed and I have not been able to contact you, I will decide the best course of action for the welfare of the dog. This maybe to remove the matted coat as leaving it can cause skin lesions and pain to a dog. Once the matted coat has been removed, this creates the perfect base coat to start afresh for future grooms. Depending on the severity of matting, a charge may be added to the bill. This is to cover time and any blunted equipment.
  • Being on time is crucial as I adhere to strict timekeeping in my diary to ensure a full groom can be completed. Lateness will incur a fee for both drop-offs and collections if over 15 minutes. If a late arrival does not leave enough time to do the full groom, you will be charged 50% of the appointment, which must be paid if you would like to book in again.
  • You are also agreeing to consent to any basic first aid that may need to be administered during the groom if required.
